My initial interest in creating JVUE, a smartphone enabled video laryngoscope, came from my travels to many hospitals as locum CRNA. I commonly found myself in difficult circumstances where a glidescope or other video airway devices were scarce or not available.
I also found the price for purchasing my own device to be expensive. I wanted a way to produce a device that was affordable and could allow me to document patients airways before and during intubation for future reference and to provide liability protection.
Even better, would be a device you could scan a patient QR, access with provider biometrics, and safely secure the data to the patient EMR or offsite storage.
That is why I built the JVUE laryngoscope- which is patent pending. It gives the provider a safe, fast and easy method for securing an airway, along with the advantage of safe and secure storage of patient data.
